It’s Christmas time once again in Mandani Bay! And Cebu is all set to enjoy the much awaited event this hear.

Loud cheers and excitement filled the Furniture Capital of the Philippines as Mandani Bay rolled out its “Christmas by the Bay” event last October 26, 2019, at the elegant Mandani Bay Show Gallery along F. E. Zuellig Avenue in Mandaue City. Mandani Bay displayed its extravagant Christmas look with an astonishing tree-lighting ceremony in conjunction with the recent launching of Mandani Bay’s latest and last Quay Tower.

Mandani Bay, an emerging world-class lifestyle hub in the rich island of Cebu, brings nature, culture and urban living in one interesting location. The 20-hectare waterfront master-planned community is expected to be the next prominent urban landmark across Asia Pacific.

The mixed-use flagship development, handled by HTLand, Inc., aims to transform Cebu as one of the leading investment destinations by combining modern architecture with Nandaue’s historically-enriched heritage. It became a unique Cebuano character within the urban landscape since the launching of Phase 1 in early 2016.

Adding to its growing list of achievements, Mandani Bay has become the first multi-national enterprise to hold a ceremonial Christmas tree-lighting in the country. Event observers and special guests were completely captivated by the joyous spirit of the holiday season as several decorated Christmas trees, ranging from 30 to 50 feet in height, beautifully surrounded the show gallery both indoors and outdoors.

Mandani Bay’s Christmas by the Bay forms part of the annual tradition that gathers investors, organizers, stakeholders, and reliable partners together in celebration of the festive season. The event was also part of the token of appreciation rewarded by the management to all the men and women of Mandani Bay for their gallant efforts.

Its Christmas theme for this year was wonderfully inspired by the subtle colors of “Winter Wonderland Christmas” look, scattering the fluffiness of snowflakes and exquisite shades of silver and blue throughout the place.

The highlight of the annual event was the lighting of four gigantic Christmas trees, all wearing the nostalgic effects of silver, blue and white, each carrying a unique symbol that represents the true passion of Mandani Bay – culture, water, adventure, and creativity.

The enormous trees hit the balance between modern and contemporary designs, surrounded by beautiful lights and assorted decorative elements while the outdoor trees produced some glistening effects that could play the eyes of everyone. Complementing the shimmering display of lights and decors was the presence of grand fireworks, glowing up above the evening sky.

Award-winning musician and decorated fashion designer Kate Torralba serenaded the guests with her music prowess, playing some Christmas songs using the piano in a relaxing atmosphere.

Kate Torralba is a renowned musician and fashion designer who started singing at the age of two. Her fascination to music grew further when Kate turned four while listening to her family members play the song “Moon River.” Her music exploration continued until she became diverse, playing rock ballad, alternative rock and even new wave music in unique styles with various bands.

Kate is also an award recipient of San Miguel Cebu Music Awards, winning several categories including Female vocalist of the year, Listeners’ Choice Awards, Band of the Year, and Song of the Year for the song “Freefall.” In the late 90s, she worked as a media relations officer under former Senator Loren Legarda upon moving to Manila, though her PR career only lasted for almost a year.

In 2002, Kate penetrated the local fashion industry, popularizing her own designer label “Kate Torralba Designs” in Metro Manila. Simultaneously, she continued her quest for diverse music genres, performing various renditions of soulful, melancholic and grunge forms of piano acts.

For many years, Kate has further enhanced her piano playing skills, following the steps of Tori Amos and Fiona Apple style of play and slowly gaining a strong following in Manila.

Bringing a warm smile to their faces, the guest were all treated with sparkling fireworks, superb live performances from different artists and the beautifully-decorated Christmas trees beaming up the entire show gallery. This is why the Mandani Bay Christmas tree lighting ceremony has become the most anticipated year-end activity in the region. Indeed, Mandani Bay has already raised the bar for entertainment and commercial-residential developments in Cebu, built around passion, heritage, and lifestyle.
